Johnston is actively looking for a smart, intuitive, Senior Mechanical Engineer with healthcare experience to join our talented team of MEP Engineers. In partnership with the Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer has responsibility for a project’s financial performance and team communication. He/She is responsible for the successful delivery of medium to large building projects as well as developing project concepts and budgets. He/She is responsible for completing site assessments and writing reports to create solutions for our clients, as well as managing and mentoring a team of Engineers and Designers. Qualifications:

  • 15 years project engineering experience in all phases of project
  • Experience working in integrated teams
  • Leadership ability working in a consultancy environment
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge in Engineering and a broad knowledge of engineering systems, calculations and construction methods
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Licensed PE

MEP Construction Administrator

Johnston is searching for an MEP Construction Administrator. In partnership with the Project Manager and Project Engineer, the Construction Administrator is responsible for effectively delivering technical content of Johnston documents, coordinating with all disciplines, including vendors and consultants throughout the construction contract administration phase and is primarily responsible for the implementation of Construction Phase Services ensuring the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into the detailed documentation. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferred
  • 10 years of project engineering experience
  • General knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design
  • Knowledge of construction methodology, material application
  • Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply to technical documents
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering building systems
  • Experience with government, education, healthcare, and commercial projects
  • Aptitude for technical resolution and coordination
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Knowledge of sustainability and LEED guidelines a plus

Senior Project Accountant

Johnston is actively looking for a talented Senior Project Accountant to join our team. Ideally, we are looking for an individual with good organizational skills, solid experience in Deltek Vision and a positive attitude. The Senior Project Accountant assists Project Managers with the financial aspects of their projects and acts as a liaison with Accounting. Analyze and report on all aspects of assigned projects, helping to determine potential opportunities or risks that are associated with each project. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 7 years accounting experience; or 10 plus years’ experience equivalent of education in the A/E/C industry.
  • 5+ years accounting experience in architecture or engineering.
  • Deltek Vision Experience is required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Detail oriented.
SKILLS OF THE JOB:
  • Assist Project Managers and project team in the completion and/or revisions of budgets and work plans, ensuring supporting Client authorization/contracts are furnished before activating project in the system.
  • Assist with project workplan set up. Monitor and update workplans, as necessary.
  • Support Project Managers in driving the financial performance of projects.
  • Conduct analysis and financial reviews of projects opportunities and risks.
  • Obtain signed consultant contracts and file-Maintain COI log.
  • Review consultant invoices with the Project Manager to verify the contract value with consultant’s billing.
  • Design and set up project related reports per Project Managers.
  • Responsible for monthly billing process.
  • Review Accounts Receivable and collections with Project Managers.
  • Process Accounts Payable – Vendor set-up and data entry.
  • Review Project budgets at project close out to ensure consultant’s billing are received and finalized.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; requires strong Excel skills.
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player, able to interact with co-workers and other departments.
