Hunting Ameriport Industrial Park

Johnston provided full architectural and engineering design services.

Johnston provided full architecture, MEP, and civil engineering design services to develop a new automated facility on a 40-acre site within the Ameriport Industrial Park in Baytown, TX. The facility is composed of three buildings that incorporate the research and development, manufacturing, and on-site storage of raw materials and completed threaded pipe into one complete campus. One of the primary purposes of the manufacturing facilities was keeping up with manufacturing needs for a new diameter of pipe intended to serve the oil and gas industry.

Building One is a 74,400 SF manufacturing facility with two levels of office space. The building is pre-engineered with a front brick facade. Building Two is a 37,500 SF building serving as the prep building for incoming raw material. The building is pre-engineered with metal wall panel. Building Three is a 14,400 SF research and development facility that includes offices, laboratories, two 8-foot deep test bunkers and 10-foot deep test holes. The facility’s completion has allowed the company to increase production by 300% and created new jobs in the Baytown area.
